Messages Point to Bid for Prison Protection for Vorcaro, but PF Stops Short of Confirming It

The accounts agree that people close to Daniel Vorcaro discussed seeking support for him while he was detained, but they differ in emphasis: one focuses on the limits of the Federal Police findings, while the other highlights the alleged protection network around the former banker.

Federal Police material made public in the Banco Master investigation describes exchanges in which associates of former banker Daniel Vorcaro discussed obtaining assistance for him during his November 2025 detention at the Guarulhos provisional detention centre in São Paulo. Both accounts identify Luiz Phillipi Mourão, known as “Sicário,” and Manoel Mendes Rodrigues, known as Manolo Dom, as central figures in those conversations.

The reports say the discussion referred to approaching contacts linked to the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC), apparently to ensure Vorcaro would be regarded as a protected associate inside prison. In one message attributed to Mourão, Vorcaro was described as “our friend” who supported “our group and our regional [branch] in various ways.” Manolo, meanwhile, expressed concern that Vorcaro might struggle psychologically in custody and said he could seek out contacts in São Paulo.

The Brazil Left account stresses the evidentiary boundary in the police report: investigators assessed the messages as a possible attempt to mobilise people linked to the PCC, but did not conclude that the effort resulted in prison protection. It similarly says police did not establish whether a proposed contact with São Paulo’s prison administration was ever made.

The Brazil Right account places the exchanges within what investigators describe as “A Turma,” a group allegedly involved in surveillance, gathering confidential information and other illicit actions connected to Vorcaro. It also reports that an attorney contacted after the messages received a 10,000-real transfer from Manolo; the attorney, André Bergeralck, confirmed the messages but said he never worked on Vorcaro’s case or visited the Guarulhos facility. “Just look at the prison records. The complete messages themselves will show that,” he said.

Vorcaro’s defence did not respond to a request for comment cited in the report. The exchanges form part of Operation Compliance Zero, which examines suspected financial fraud involving Banco Master and related actors.
