TL;DR
- Eduardo Paes (PSD) has publicly complained about Anthony Garotinho's (Republicanos) decision to not appeal his ineligibility.
- This move is expected to result in Douglas Ruas (PL) being elected governor of Rio de Janeiro in the first round.
- Paes described the situation as a 'rotten system maneuver' and an 'arrangement' with Ruas.
- The article points out that Paes's coalition was responsible for initiating the legal action against Garotinho's candidacy.
- Garotinho's votes will be invalidated, leading to a recalculation that will push Ruas over the 50% mark.
- This marks Eduardo Paes's third unsuccessful attempt to be elected governor of Rio de Janeiro.
