O Copom reduziu a Selic de 14% para 13,75% ao ano

O Brasil fechou esta quarta-feira 16 com a maior taxa real de juros do mundo, mesmo após a decisão do Comitê de Política Monetária do Banco Central de cortar a Selic de 14% para 13,75% ao ano.

De acordo com um monitoramento das consultorias MoneYou e Lev Intelligence, o País tem agora uma taxa real de 8,45%. Em segundo lugar no ranking está a Rússia (6,79%, apesar dos mais de quatro anos de guerra), seguida no top cinco por Colômbia (6,33%), Turquia (6,25%) e México (3,08%).

Para calcular o índice real de juros, leva-se em conta a taxa “a mercado” — um referencial do que seriam juros tomados em uma operação real — e a inflação projetada para os 12 meses seguintes. A mais recente edição do Boletim Focus, publicada pelo Banco Central na última segunda-feira 14 após consultar mais de 100 instituições do mercado financeiro, apontou que a estimativa de inflação para 2026 caiu de 5% para 4,9%. Já a projeção para 2027 teve uma leve alta de 4,29% para 4,30%.

O Brasil continuaria na liderança do ranking mesmo se o Copom tivesse optado por uma diminuição de meio ponto percentual na Selic — neste caso, terminaria esta quarta-feira com um índice real de 8,29%.
